OnLive – the online gaming service that allows you to play any game titles anywhere and use any computer, have announced their launch in the US. This online gaming service defines itself as “gaming in the cloud”, is different from conventional gaming, which you don’t need a separate game console and you can use any computer to play anywhere as long as you’re connected to the Internet.
The best is you can even continue to play a game using a different computer at the point you’ve left off with another computer. You do not need to have any installations on any computer – no discs, no giant game downloads, no patches or updates and you don’t even need high-performance gaming PC.
OnLive has a partnership with AT&T to celebrate their launch, offering the OnLive Founding Members Program, which is a limited-time, limited availability offer of a FREE 1st-year OnLive membership to the first few who sign up.
There will be many titles that you can play with instant on demand access such as Assassin’s Creed II, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Borderlands and so on. It seems like the OnLive gaming service is a huge threat to gaming consoles like Xbox, PS3 – but we believe the OnLive should lack a lot in terms of speeds and quality of experience while compared to playing on Xbox or PlayStation.
