A number of pictures have surfaced which also suggest that the Motorola Shadow has now been renamed and called the Droid Xtreme or just Droid X. And the latest round of rumors also claims the Droid X headed to Verizon sometime in July. And it’ll run Android 2.1 and an updated version of the MotoBlur interface.

And in August, Motorola Droid 2 that runs the latest Android Froyo 2.2, will also be landing on Verizon. There are a number of pictures here, which also show confirmation of the name Droid X, the Android 2.1 OS and the new version of Moto Blur UI.

GadgetUniversity has had their early hands-on with the Droid X, which they claimed the screen was awesome and the colors were much better than the Droid. The specs of the handset are likely a 4.3-inch screen, a 750Mhz TI OMAP3630 processor, HDMI out, a new version of Moto Blur, Android 2.1 OS and the hardware navigation keys. The screen was said not an AMOLED but possibly an IPS screen.

I officially simply cannot wait around for this phone, just only two days left and I simply wish I could get my hands on one,. I have already been reading a lot about the Google android 2.2 update that will come in August, simply one more purpose to be excited about this excellent phone. Motorola and Verizon say they will certainly update the phone to Android 2.2 “late summer time.” It will be an over-the-air update. However out-of-the box on its July 15 launch it will probably have Android 2.1.

I have already been sense a minor heat this a . m . from a few individuals not looking to think that the Droid X stock may become limited on launch day, as we noted earlier. Well we have only got 5 extra screenshots from 5 quite significant marketplaces and I’d say once again that stock appears to end up being very limited to me. A few of the main suppliers get upwards of 60 devices, but a few might only have a few units. Now maybe these quantities are over average for a Verizon wireless release, but for a device this big, I speculate I just figured retailers would certainly have tried to have already been overstocked.

The Motorola DROID continues to present new possibilities every day. We have had it for about 10 months and We have had a Blackberry attached to my body since September 1998. Becoming connected is often a crucial part of my life so I’m usually reachable by family and co-workers. I am a bit addicted towards the Current market for DROID Applications. When the device had limitless memory I would check the capacity. I feel this OS could be the way of the future and intend to grow with all of you to know it by way of and as a result of. Thanks for the write-up.

Even as I really like a bodily keyboard, after handling the Samsung Captivate for roughly 15 minutes, it is laborious to go back. Presently I am debating whether or not to visit Verizon for the Droid X, pass to Sprint for the EVO, or stick with AT&T for the Captivate…selections, decisions.
