Over months of speculations and number of versions of early prototypes have surfaced, the iPhone 4G (or iPhone HD) is very much expected to be disclosed for its true face and launched at the Apple’s WWDC today.
The iPhone 4G prototype has been ripped apart and we’ve also seen its guts. And it’s much expected to pack a screen with a resolution of 960 x 640, higher than what the iPhone 3GS has. The display is also said to be using IPS (in plane switching), similar to what the iPad has, along with another new technology called FFS (fringe-field switching).
The iPhone 4G is also expected to pack a larger battery that is 17% larger. And this was made possible due to Apple managed to shrink down all the parts in the phone, which have become 1/3 of the previous size and save all the spaces for the larger battery.
Some other heard goodies about the iPhone 4G are two cameras with one facing front for video calls and one at the back. And a complete white version of iPhone 4G will be available. Whether what we’ve heard is true or not simply depends on if the iPhone 4G will be officially unveiled at WWDC 2010.
AT&T’s early iPhone 4G upgrade: On the other hand, AT&T has started offering its customers the option to upgrade their iPhone to iPhone 4G. AT&T customers who purchased an iPhone last year, had to sign up an 18-month contract, even though Apple releases a new version of iPhone each year. You’ll have to check out at AT&T website whether you’re eligible for the upgrade.
Please note the upgrade will cost you an $18 upgrade fee and need you to sign a new 24 month contract with AT&T. And you’ll probably have to do the same when a new generation of iPhone coming next year.
Anyway, with the AT&T offer, it is very likely iPhone 4G to be disclosed at WWDC. Does that also mean iPhone 4G is very unlikely to land on Verizon?
