Sony LifeLogger lets your cats tweet

Dogs are able to tweet on Twitter by using the Puppy Tweets, and now it’s time for cats to gain the ability to tweet on Twitter, which is made possible by a device called Sony LifeLogger.

The Sony LifeLogger is a bulky device that is to be attached to cat’s collar. The device was developed by Sony Sony Computer Science Laboratories in collaboration with the University of Tokyo. The device itself has electronics that contain Bluetooth radio for communication with a host PC and a range of sensors including accelerometers and GPS to detect motions and geolocation.

The device captures the cat’s activities including drinking, eating, chasing a mouse and so forth, and translates them into pre-generated tweets and post them on Twitter. The device also has embedded camera that takes images and geotag the images.

Currently, the Sony LifeLogger is still in its prototype stage. There are still some improvement works and no mention about when the device will be ready for the market.
