Silicon Power has announced a portable hard drive that offers both high speeds of data transfer and ruggedness to physically protect your data well. The new portable hard drive from Silicon Power is called Armor A80, which offers SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface to deliver data at 5Gbps and physical protections including water resistance, shock resistance, dust and pressure proof etc.

The Armor A80 has water resistance that meets the IPX7 standard and has been tested to meet the MIL-STD-810F military standards in shock and drop tests. The portable hard drive is equipped with advanced two-stage anti-shock technology.

The Armor A80 portable hard drives are available in a number of versions including 320GB, 500GB and 640GB and they all come with a built-in USB cable. The drive is also loaded with SP Widget that provides seven protection functions for your data.
