Acer LumiRead e-book reader


Acer has released their e-book reader, called the Acer LumiRead. The device has clear.fi solution implemented into a DLNA-compliant device, which lets you access Acer clear.fi and share contents such as e-books, audio books across multiple devices.

The device is equipped with WiFi and 3G connectivity that lets you download the latest bestseller with ease. Acer has also come to agreement with a number of content providers including Barnes & Noble in the US, Libri.de in Germany and Founder in China to produce local content in Chinese, English and German. There are also some other agreements in the works to provide contents to Italian and French readers.

The Acer LumiRead e-reader has a 6-inch, non backlit e-Ink display, which offers paper-like reading experience even in bright sunlight. The device also has a QWERTY keyboard, 2GB memory which is expandable via microSD card. It has a built-in ISBN scanner, which you can use to scan ISBN codes to create your own wish-list and reference on supported online libraries and book stores.
