Elgato has announced the EyeTV HD, a device that allows you to watch, record and edit satellite or cable HDTV on your Mac computer. The EyeTV HD connects your Mac directly to the satellite or cable receiver. It comes with the capability to record in iPad and iPhone formats and stream the recorded content to the Apple devices directly using the EyeTV app.
The EyeTV HD just needs to be connected to the satellite or cable receiver’s outputs with the included component cables. And it’s hooked up to the Mac computer via USB port. It also comes with an infrared remote and channel changer cable (“IR blaster”) for automatic control of the receiver.
It’s capable of dual-format recording, can record both iPhone and iPad formats at the same time. It supports super fast exports to iTunes and records directly to the iPhone and iPad using the EyeTV App.
