Wikitude Drive is an augmented reality turn-by-turn navigation app for Android devices. The application makes use of GPS to superimpose the selected route with the live view captured by the camera of the Android phone. So, drivers can see things/road ahead of their cars.
The Wikitude Drive needs to run on Android phones that have at least the version 1.6 of the OS. This should be more useful than the conventional GPS devices, which normally need the drivers to listen to the voice guide or look at the maps on the screen.
The multi-tasking capability of Android allows the navigation to be running and having other tasks running at the same time, such as using voice activation to receive and make calls. Anyway, the sophistication of this app will likely distract the driver, as they should actually be watching the road instead of the screen of the smart phone.
