The Valve’s Steam PC online game and download service has now been made available for Mac users. Previously the online game was only available for PC gamers, which has got 1,000 games and 25 million user accounts. The good news is they’ve made this service available for Mac computers, so Apple Mac users will have a wider selection for games.
You’ll be rewarded with a free game, called Portal, a puzzle-based first person shooter game, if you sign up before May 28th. There will be some cool titles coming to the Steam game service including Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike, Left 4 Dead 2 and Portal 2 and expected to be made available for both PC and Mac by Christmas.
For those who’ve been members on the PC platform can start playing games on both platforms now. A number of online game services have opened their services to Mac users recently. Other than Valve, Telltale Games, creator of the episodic Sam & Max games is also one of them.
Valve will also make the native OS/X support for the Source engine available, so bedroom game designers can start making their own games right away and exposed to opportunities of getting published.
