Besides making memory for computers, Patriot has also got other hardware and they have just announced their new SSD called the Inferno which uses a SandForce controller.
The Inferno SSD offers storage capacities in 100GB and 200GB and uses specially screened MLC NAND flash for better read and write performances, which is claimed by the company to peak at 285MB/s and 275MB/s for sequential read and write speeds respectively.
The specific controller, SandForce DuraClass used in the Inferno SSD, is claimed to be much more durable and reliable by an average of 20 times over traditional SSD controllers. Each Inferno SSD will ship with a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch adapter for easy installation into desktop PCs. Pricing has not been announced yet.
