The Archos 7 Home tablet has been launched by the company. This tablet comes with a 7-inch screen and runs the Android 1.6 OS. Archos even claims this tablet as the first large-screen Android tablet that offers always-on access to web, email, photos and videos. It even has a dedicated library of Android applications.
The 7-inch touchscreen of this Archos tablet boasts a resolution of 800 x 480. It weighs a mere 0.8 pounds and measures 0.47 inches in thickness. The device packs 8GB Flash memory, WiFi connectivity and USB port to connect to your PC and other devices.
The Archos 7 packs a battery that lasts 7 hours for video and 44 hours for audio playback. It’s been pre-installed with apps including book-reading app Aldiko, eBuddy for IM, and DailyPaper. If also offers other apps for download. The device plays MP3 and is allowed to access Deezer, the free music-streaming service.
The Archos 7 tablet is definitely cheaper than your iPad, priced at $200 and is available now for pre-order on Amazon and will be shipped in mid of May, while other retailers will have it in June.
