In order for electric cars to become popular, they will need charging stations that can refill their juice as quickly as possible. As no one will want to wait for a couple of hours for an EV to charge. JFE Engineering Corp claims they’ve developed a solution, a super quick charging station for EVs, which allows an EV to charge up to 50% in just 3 minutes.
The JFE charging station will not come cheap, a single charging station will run you $63,000. The JFE charging station also needs the EV’s software and systems to be modified in order to achieve the quick charging process. Apparently, the total cost of ownership for an EV is much higher than traditional vehicles, if you’re required to own a charging station.
