iPad, as one of the hottest gadgets, has got a virus ready for it. BidDefender has reported a virus that disguises itself as an iTunes update which lures the users into clicking it. It comes in the form of malicious link in emails which tell users it’s an iTunes update that will give your iPad with newer features, best performance and security.
Once your iPad gets infected by this virus, the sensitive data on your iPad may be used for exploitation. The virus is identified as as Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY. The piece of malicious code, once gets downloaded, will inject itself into explorer.exe process and opens backdoor to allow unauthorized access and control over the affected system.
This iPad virus is also powerful enough to read keys and serial numbers of the software installed on your iPad. It’ll also log the passwords to the victim’s various accounts such as ICQ, Messenger, POP3 email and protected storage. So, for the iPad users, you’ve gotta be extra careful while you’ve received an email claiming to provide iTunes update. Or even there is any future update, be sure to double check Apple’s official site if there is such an update.
