BlackBerry Bold 9650 and Pearl 3G officially launched


RIM BlackBerry plans to officially announce two BlackBerry devices today, which are the BlackBerry Bold 9650, that has been rumored for quite sometime and the BlackBerry Pearl 3G.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS or dual-band CDMA/EV-DO smartphone and packs features including a large screen with high resolution, a 3.2 megapixel camera, built-in GPS, WiFi etc. This BlackBerry Bold 9650 is an updated version of existing BlackBerry Bold models.

The BlackBerry Pearl 3G comes in a compact form factor. Despite it comes in a compact body but it manages to fit a full QWERTY keyboard in an alphanumeric keypad. This device is also a slightly updated version of the existing models. The Pearl 3G also carries similar specs but it’s strictly a GSM phone.

RIM hasn’t yet had a press release but they have some information about the carriers: the Bold 9650 will be available next month from Sprint. While the Pearl 3G will be available in Canada on Telus, Rogers and Bell. But you’ll have to check for its availability with US carriers. No information about the exact date of availability and pricing.
