AMD ATI FirePro graphics cards for professionals


AMD has unveiled a couple of ATI FirePro graphics cards which are aimed at professionals and financial traders. These professional video cards are the ATI FirePro V7800, ATI FirePro V5800, ATI FirePro V4800, and ATI FirePro V3800, which use ATI Eyefinity technology and support Microsoft DirectX11, OpenGL 4.0 and OpenCL. Along with them is the ATI FirePro 2460 Multi-View, which is a low-profile, quad display graphics solution that is specially designed to improve visual experience of financial traders (As you know, they can’t afford to misread any financial figures.)

The ATI FirePro V7800 is the most high-end graphics card among them, which comes with 2GB of GDDR5 memory and is based on parallel architecture that is able to handle computationally or visually demanding applications with ease without any negative impact on performance.

The ATI FirePro V5800 is the mid-range, which comes with 1GB CDDR5 memory, supports up to three independent displays through the ATI Eyefinity technology. It has double the the performance of the previous generation, which also offers a balance of price and performance.

The ATI FirePro V4800 is targeted at entry-level CAD users at value level pricing, which boasts 1.25 times of the performance of the previous generation and packs a 1GB GDD5 memory. The ATI FirePro V3800 packs 512MB of DDR3 memory and a 30-bit display pipeline, which offers accurate color reproduction and exceptional visual quality. It also supports up to three displays with the support of the ATI Eyefinity technology, and it’s aimed at graphics professionals.

Last in the release is the ATI FirePro 2460 Multi-View, which is targeted at financial traders as mentioned, is a graphics card that is kept at low power consumption at about 13W on average. And it offers capability to support multiple displays, so financial traders can read tons of financial and stock figures clearly at once.
