
Panasonic is one of the first few that has announced Skype function to be built into their future HD TVs. And now the company has announced a web cam, TY-CC10W, that is specially designed for the use with Skype on the company’s VIERA line of HD TVs.
The TY-CC10W webcam just needs to plug into the USB 2.0 port of the web-enabled VIERA TV that has the latest firmware installed, you’ll then be able to have video chat in 1,280×720 (at 22fps) using your Skype account. The webcam has a 1/4 CMOS sensor and four microphones. It measures 210×43×76mm and weighs 200g.
The TY-CC10W Skype webcam will start selling in Japan on June 11 for a price of $190. But the company hasn’t mentioned if it’ll be shipped to other countries.
