Google Chrome OS netbooks will not come in expensive prices, they’ll be priced around in range of $300 to $400 as the OS itself will not cost you a dime, it’s only the hardware and the technology that costs a price.
According to the announcement by CEO of Google [GOOG] Eric Schmidt, Google is not going to make any revenue from selling the software license of the Google Chrome OS. Instead, they’ll be able to grab their revenues from other means.
Google even wants carriers to bundle the Chrome OS netbooks with contracts to roll them out with a lower start cost. Apart from search, Google’s business and strategy are more on the information and sharing, where netbooks and smart phones are the mobile devices that will be able to use the Google’s GData, to easily share information and data via cloud service.
