What makes a set-top box stand out from its competitors is the ability to communicate with the Apple gadgets, such as the iPhone. Marusys has announced two new set-top boxes, MS630S and MS850S, which have the capability of streaming video straight to the iPhone over WiFi.
The new Marusys set-top boxes have composite, component and HDMI video outputs on the back. It’s loaded with the Linux based media player, XBMC. Both set-top boxes are powered by the Magnum DX6225 media chip, which is able to transcode content on the fly into a variety of formats and transmit the video wirelessly to the iPhone.
