Google Nexus One and HTC Desire do come with some similarities, such as they’re basically housed in the same chassis, although the Nexus One’s comes slightly thinner. Gaj-it.com has made a side by side comparison of a number of key features of the two phones, including the style, screen, UI, camera, noise canceling and battery.
The comparison of Gaj-it.com has finally ruled the HTC Desire as the overall winner. The HTC Desire smart phone has won in style, screen, UI, tied the camera but lost in noise canceling and battery.
For the style, HTC Desire features an optical joystick which has won over the track ball used in Google Nexus One, in terms of durability and dust-free. For the screen, both phones have 3.7-inch, 480 x 800 pixel WVGA AMOLED capacitive touch displays. However, HTC Desire features multi-touch capabilities, whereas Nexus One users will need to wait until the firmware update to get this feature.
On the UI, both phones run Android OS but the HTC Desire is packed with the Sense UI that makes it more interesting and happening, allows you to access Friend Stream that integrates your phone’s contacts with Facebook, Twitter etc.
The two phones tied on the camera as they both feature 5-megapixel camera backed with LED flash. The two winning features of the Google Nexus One are : it packs a double microphone noise canceling, so you can make calls in busy streets and the Nexus One’s battery allows you to have up to 420 minutes of talk time on a fully-charged battery, while you get only 390 minutes of talk time on the HTC Desire.
