
There have been a number of tablets that come in similar design of the iPad. WePad is one of them, which offers the same slim design of the iPad but with some features that were unavailable on the Apple iPad.
WePad is an Android-powered tablet which has access to the Android marketplace for apps. Out of the box, the WePad comes with a 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 touchscreen, a couple of USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot, support for Flash, Adobe AIR, USB and multi-tasking. The WePad was announced earlier but with the price and launch date missing. And now they have some additional information including the price and launch date.
The additional information is WePad will get Intel and Adobe as the official partners. It’ll be like the iPad, available in two models, WiFi-only and 3G+WiFi. The WiFi-only model will cost 449 Euro or $611 and is packed with 1.66GHZ Intel Atom N450 processor, 16GB of flash storage, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 1.3 megapixel camera.
The 3G+WiFi model will cost 569 Euro or $774, which you’ll get 3G, 32GB storage and the rest available in the cheaper model. The WePad will be available for pre-orders in Germany, starting on April 27 with a “soft launch with limited availability” coming in July. Relase beyond Germany will have to wait until at least August.
