Here comes a virtual potter’s wheel, which allows you to make your own pottery without needing you to soil your hands. Or the system can be used to have your own pottery training. The system uses a 3D printer and a 3D scanner that allow your hands to shape an object and print it. And you’ll never have to get your hands dirty with soil throughout the entire process.
The Virtual potter’s wheel consists of a 3D printer by Belgian company Unfold and a 3D scanner by Knapen. The Unfold’s 3D printer is able to convert ceramic powder into solid forms with a cooling technique. While the Knapen’s 3D scanner has a camera that captures your hand movements and transfers them into a program which shapes your model in real time. After that you just have to print it out. Of course, how good your pottery is all depends on how good your pottery skills and techniques are.

Ok now that’s really cool. It’s about time we see someone using 3D printing and scanning together for an fluid application
