Asus has added a new nettop, Eee Box EB1007 to its product line. The Eee Box EB1007 presents some similarity to other nettops, which Asus has launched over the past two years. But this new nettop is powered by the Intel’s Atom Pine Trail processor, which is the only difference from other Asus nettops.
The Asus Eee Box EB1007 offers to run Windows XP OS only at the moment but there should be a Windows 7 version coming soon. Under the hood, the EB1007 packs a 1.66GHz Intel Atom D410 single core processor, 160GB 2.5-inch HDD, 1GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, WiFi b/g/n, 10/100/1000Mbps LAN a SDHC card reader, S/PDIF and D-sub ports, an e-SATA port and 6 USB ports.
It measures 8.8 in x 7 in x 1.1 in and weighs 2.6 pounds or about 1.2 kg. You’ll get options such as mouse, a keyboard, stand and the VESA Mount kit which allows it to be attached to the back of a monitor or a TV. There is no word about the pricing or availability yet.
