Although we’ve heard glasses-free 3D displays are being developed but so far there is no official indication that any of them has been made ready. But surprisingly, a 3D TV called SteamTV, has been spotted on Amazon, which claims to provide glasses-free 3D viewing.
The SteamTV will be available in 37 and 42 inches and they’ll be shipped sometime in May and is now up on Amazon for a pre-order with a whopping price tag of $6,000 for the 42-inch model, while the 37-inch costs about $4,000. The product page does not have any image of the glasses-free 3D SteamTV. And there is no information about the technology behind the glasses-free 3D SteamTV.
Besides the glasses-free 3D capability, the SteamTV also comes with built-in Blu-ray player, 500GB HDD and with full browsing capabilities using Entertainment Portal. It sounds more like an Internet TV. Anyway, you can place your order on Amazon and you’ll receive it sometime in May.

And in May of next year it will have between ZERO and 3 reviews of people that actually bought it. I’d bet anything it never gets over 5 reviews, and then it will be discontinued. It’s too expensive for what they give you and will not sell much if any.
