What makes the Apple gadgets attractive to the iPhone Dev team is they always pose a challenge for the dev team to jailbreak them. And the team has just successfully jailbroken the newly released iPad.
The jailbroken iPad allowed the iPhone dev team to run an SSH server on it. The iPad that runs the 3.2 iPhone OS firmware version 3.2 has a number of unpatched security holes. And it’s also been released to the public. The dev team was able to jailbreak the iPad by using their existing iPhone 3.1.3 hack. So, similar to the iPhone, the jailbroken iPad shall let you run many other 3rd-party apps.
