First Data microSD-based contactless payment system

First Data has created a contactless payment system based on the use of Tyfone’s SideTap microSD card to allow mobile phones to authorize payment transactions.

The SideTap microSD card can be slotted into the microSD card slot of any mobile phones. So, the mobile phone with the SideTap card will be able to authorize transaction.

The system is loaded on a microSD card allows it to be widely usable since many devices are compatible with the system.

When purchasing the SureTap microSD card, you’ll need to upload your bank and financial information to it, so they can be used when performing transactions.

Besides used for payment transactions, the SideTap microSD card also comes with 1GB storage capacity that allows you to store your data as usual. The system is expected to be launched in the second half of 2010.
