iDongle jailbreaks iPhone 3GS

The little iDongle offers a hardware solution to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS. It works on iPhone OS 3.1 or later. This iDongle hardware jailbreak seems to be much easier than using the software jailbreak tool. What you need to do is just hook up the iDongle to the dock connector of the iPhone and let it boot. It doesn’t need a computer in between.

The little iDongle seems to be capable of long-term jailbreaking of the iPhone, even it offers future upgrade of its firmware to tackle future releases of the iPhone OS. Upgrading of the iDongle can be done via USB and the maker will add the new jailbreak on their website and possibly make it free for you to download.

It’s now got only a dozen of prototypes available and please also note it only jailbreaks, so you can freely install any 3rd party apps, but it won’t unlock your iPhone 3Gs from your network provider. Watch the clip below on how it works. And find out more here
