Acer is working on a super thin notebook which comes with a very unique feature i.e. frameless, which has no back casing. This Acer ultra thin notebook is said to hit the market sometime in second half of 2010. And it’ll come with a touch keyboard and use back of the panel’s glass substrate as the cover.
It says Acer is likely to adopt Corning’s reinforced glass substrate and then print color on its back to allow the substrate to function like a notebook cover for a frameless design. This allows the notebook to slash some thickness and stay as thin as possible and some more reduces the cost of material costs.
It should be the first of its kind in the market, if Acer manages to make these frameless notebooks to come true in second half of this year.
