The Gigabyte T1000 Netbook Tablet is the first tablet that offers an upgrade option to the Intel’s newly announced Pine Trail N470 processor. The T1000 comes powered with an Intel 1.66GHz N450 processor, the N470 is an optional and it has a 10.1 inch LCD display with resolution of 1366×768, which also makes it convertible between a tablet and a netbook setup.
The T1000 has 1GB DDR2 RAM, 250GB 2.5-inch SATA HDD, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, built-in microphone and two 1.5 watt speakers. It also supports WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and Ethernet 10/100 connectivity. There are 2 USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA/USB combo, a 4-in-1 multiformat card reader, audio in/out port and express card port.
Two versions of the Gigabyte T1000 are available, which are T1000x and the T1000p. The major differences between the two models are the battery life and the weight. The T1000X packs with a 4-cell 4500mAh Li-ion battery and weights 1.3 KG. Whereas the T1000P packs with a 6-cell 7650mAh Li-ion battery that makes it heavier and weighs at 1.48 KG. So, if you want longer battery life, you’ll have to tone up your muscles to sustain the heavier weight. Price has not been announced yet, but it’ll likely get announced during CeBIT 2010.
