Entourage eDGe is another dual-display e-reader that had gone up for pre-orders sometime before January. The company is ready to ship the pre-orders made by January 12th this week and the new orders will be shipped in March. They’ve also announced a few more details about the eDGe dual-screen e-reader, especially on the battery runtimes.
The Entourage eDGe is the first dual-screen e-book reader which the idea of making it was from the need of an e-book reader which you could use for reading e-books and at the same time you could carry out other tasks such as using Word, Excel, watching videos and accessing FaceBook etc.
The Entourarge eDGe e-reader also features an e-Ink display and an LCD screen. This e-reader was first announced with a battery life of 16 hours. But now it’s been made clearer which the 16 hours of battery runtime only applies when you’re reading only using the e-Ink. But if you use the LCD screen primarily or both screens simultaneously, you’ll get only 6 hours of battery run time.
Entourage expects mixed usage by most users, such as dragging grayscale images from e-Ink to view on color LCD screen, attaching web pages, video and notes on the WiFi-enabled LCD screen to passages in an e-book, exporting PDF to be attached in email, and opening hyperlinks and embedded videos in an e-book and view them on the color LCD screen etc.
