Slacker Radio has announced the availability of their Slacker Radio version 2.0 for Android phones, which is an application that allows Android smartphone users to cache their radio stations on their devices.
Caching of radio stations means you’ll be able to enjoy the Slacker service even though you lose the signals, regardless of whether it’s the weakening in signal strengths from remote stations or a lost of network connection on the local transit system.
The radio caching also allows a copy of your music playlist stored locally and it also has a auto-cache feature that downloads your preferred stations through the night. This feature can be enabled in either automatic or manual mode.
In order to enjoy the radio caching on your Android devices, you’ll need to susbcribe to the Slacker Radio Plus, which costs $4.99 a month. Or you can choose to pay annually which costs only $47.88. You’ll also get extra perks with the subscription such as ad-free music, unlimited skips and full lyrics of the music. If you’re indecisive whether the Plus is what you want, you can try out the Basic first, which is free as a 14-day trial.
