
Japan’s iPhone app publisher, APPLIYA has announced an upgraded version of their iPhoneAppBuilder, a web-based tool that allows you to easily create and publish applications for the iPhone. The APPLIYA iPhoneAppBuilder has now incorporated with feature allowing you to use images from a public pool such as Flickr or from your local computer on the iPhone application that you’re developing online.
With this web-based iPhoneAppBuilder, everyone can easily create an iPhone application. Basically the current iPhoneAppBuilder consists of 5 basic types of applications which you can further develop/customize by doing no more than adding your own images as backgrounds or themes.
The 5 basic types of applications are Image Viewer, Slide Puzzle, Pictter, Clock and Calendar. The Image Viewer lets you develop a catalog-based application that consists of high-res images and links to products etc. The Slide Puzzle allows you to create your own artwork for the puzzle game. The Pictter allows you to develop a theme which gathers and shows you tweets from Twitter related to the theme. Clock lets you further develop with your own set of images, which change when the clock ticks away. And Calendar lets you further develop an Calendar app with your own set of wallpapers.
Users get to build the application for free. They’ll receive royalties on sales of those apps from the app store and possibility of additional revenue through advertising in your app. If you submit an app now, you’ll be automatically entered into a contest running from Feb 22 to Mar 22, 2010.
