USB 3.0 technology has surfaced for quite sometimes but we haven’t seen yet a USB 3.0 compliant hub which you can use to connect to those increasingly more and more USB 3.0 gadgets on your work desk. Thanks to Buffalo, which has just unveiled the first USB 3.0 Hub that offers 4 USB 3.0 ports for connecting up to 4 USB 3.0 gadgets for the super high data speeds of 5.0Gbps (theoretical).

The Buffalo USB 3.0 hub is codenamed BSH4A03U3, which is compatible with various operating systems such as Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and OSX 10.4. Of course, to enjoy the high speeds of USB 3.0, your computer must be USB 3.0 ready.
The Buffalo USB 3.0 hub also offers backward compatibility to USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 and of course you won’t get to enjoy the high speeds of USB 3.0, if you hook up a USB 2.0 gadget to it.
The Buffalo USB 3.0 hub can operate in either self-powered or bus-powered mode. It’ll be released during the middle of next month in Japan for $88 and is expected to be released worldwide shortly thereafter.
