Sony Ericsson announces Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro

Sony Ericsson has announced the mini versions of the SE Xperia X10 – the Xperia X10 Mini and Mini Pro. Both handsets run Android. The X10 Pro features an additional side-slide-out QWERTY. Both phones come equipped with the SE’s custom UX platform over Android, with features such as Timescape for ease of aggregating your content to one place.

The SE X10 Mini and Mini pro share common features including a 2.5-inch touchscreen display with 320×240 pixel resolution, WiFi, 3G connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera, GPS support and powered by a 600MHz proccessor instead of 1GHz Snapdragon.

The two phones actually run a heavily customized Android 1.6 which has applications such as Mediascape for music, video and photos playback and the mentioned Timesacpe for aggregating messages.

Both phones will be available in Spring. They will likely have 850Mhz HSPA variants, making them suitable for a launch on a launch for AT&T, Bell, Rogers or Telus. Watch the clip below for the phones in action.
