Pharos 565 rugged PDA runs Windows Mobile 6.5


Pharos 565 is a rugged PDA runs Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. It’s also the first of its kind which claims to run the Windows Mobile 6.5.

PDAs are not as popular as they were in the old days, as today’s smartphones can handle most of the tasks of a PDA. But if you work in an harsh environment, and you need a little gadget that can speed up your daily task, this rugged PDA is surely the one to go for.

The Pharos 565 features a 3.5 inch QVGA touchscreen display, a full QWERTY, supports Bluetooth, WiFi connectivity, GPS, IrDA and 3.5mm headset jack. It’s also packed with 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a 624MHz Marvell PXA310 processor, a 1880 mAh battery and Office Mobile. It claims to be able to survive a drop from 4-5 feet. It costs $530 and is unlocked.

    The 565 is definitely a great PDA. Having windows mobile is a bonus really (for anyone taking a chance with a PDA for the first time, the interface is easy to use for a windows user)

    The hardware spec is high enough. Hope it is a success.
