Apple has announced the Aperture 3, the Apple’s photo editing and management application software with over 200 new features added. A few of the prominent features found on the new Aperture 3 are Faces and Places tagging, which were introduced at iPhoto last year. The Brushes, which allow the adjustment of painting image into photo. And slideshow for HD videos.
The Faces and Places tagging uses face detection and tagging, allow you to organize photos by people or by where you took them. It presents you with thumbnails of photos which you can drag and drop them onto a map. The places tagging uses GPS technology, so when the user imports the track log, only the first photo required to tell where it was taken, and it’ll then plot the rest using timestamps. It also supports direct upload of photos to Flickr or Facebook.
The Brushes include 15+ brushes for adjusting photos. Brushes can be used easily to adjust contrast or saturation or curves. The SlideShow feature also integrates photos, audio, text and HD video, allow them to be exported and work on iPhone or iPod Touch.
The Aperture 3 also allows ease of merging libraries. User can take your work and a self-contained library to carry out your work while on the run. And merge them back to the master library, and changes will be synced automatically.
The Aperture 3 is a 64-bit application on Intel Core 2 Duo Macs running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It’s available now for a full-version price of $199. Existing Aperture users just need to pay $100 for an upgrade. A 30-day trial is also available for download here.
