Short-throw projectors are handy for small rooms, which allow you to throw an image that is comfortably large enough even placed at a short distance from the screen. Here comes another ultra short-throw projector, BrightLink 450Wi, which has just been announced by Epson. It comes with ultra short-throw capability, which allows you to project a respectable 60-inch diagonal image at a distance of 18 inches only.
The Epson BrightLink 450Wi is able to project an image from 55 (diagonal) to 102-inches up to 96-inches diagonal (WXGA) and up to 85-inches diagonal (XGA), depending on how it’s mounted on a wall. You can even mount it at a very short distance of 2.8 inches from the screen, though that will produce considerably smaller image.
The Epson BrightLink 450Wi is also an interactive projector that comes with a set of digital infrared pens, which the presenter can use to doodle or annotate directly on the projected image. Although it’s packed with lots of features but it will not come too pricey, expected to cost below $2,000 and slated to hit the market sometime in Spring 2010.
Update: Due to a transcription error of the source, the Epson BrightLink 450Wi was initially said to be capable of throwing up to 102-inches in XGA. The correct is “up to 85-inches in XGA”.
