Marvel has unveiled the Plug Computer 3.0 which comes with WiFi connectivity, built-in hard disk drive, runs Linux 2.6 and powered by a 2GHz Armada processor.
Like the SheevaPlug, the Plug Computer 3.0 comes in the form of a little wall plug that plugs into the wall power outlet. It can be used for streaming video to nearby TV, playing music over WiFi to a stereo wireless receiver and providing connectivity for a number of gadgets in your home.
Other applications of the Plug Computer 3.0 including home automation, content sharing, medical monitoring, security and access control, industrial automation etc. The little Plug computer is always on and draws only 1/10th of the power needed by a regular computer.
The little Plug computer 3.0 is priced at the introductory price of $99 only. It’ll come included with development kit for application development.
