The HSTi Wireless Media Stick comes in the form of a USB dongle, which is a smart little device that lets you stream content wirelessly from your WiFi-enabled PC to a TV-connected AV device or media player.
The little device is useful for those who always keep a huge collection of media files on their computers. It simply works like a wireless content receiver for the AV device or media streamer. So, once you have this little USB dongle connected to the USB port of an AV device or media streamer, you’ll be able to stream content on your WiFi-enabled PC to the AV device wirelessly. Which you can then play back the content on a TV.
For example, you can hook up the HSTi Wireless Media Stick to a Blu-Ray player’s USB port, to allow the player to receive content from your WiFi-enabled laptop wirelessly. Or you can hook it up to a digital photo frame with USB port, so you can stream photo slideshows from your computer right to the device, via WiFi. It’s handy, frees you from the hassle of having to transfer those media files on your PC to an external USB HDD or drive in order to playback on a media streamer or player.
It claims to be compatible with every AV device that supports playing of media over USB. There is no price or release date yet, but you should get it more at CES.
