If you still stick to low-capacity USB flash drives, it’s time for an upgrade now to not only the storage capacity but also the speeds. PQI has announced their PQI U366 Cool Drive, which is a USB flash drive that offers three storage sizes, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. And it’s also one of the few that offers the super high speed USB 3.0 connection.
With the PQI U366 Cool Drive, you can enjoy incredibly fast 5Gbps transfer rate, which was previously only achievable with an e-SATA-powered thumb drive. If you’re still unaware how fast USB 3.0 can transfer, it’s actually about 10 times faster than USB 2.0 transfer speed. But of course, to enjoy the super fast speeds of USB 3.0, your computer must be one ready with the USB 3.0 ports.
There is no worry to own the PQI U366 Cool Drive, even though your computer isn’t ready for USB 3.0, as the drive is still backward compatible with USB 2.0, but you don’t get the killer speeds. There is no pricing or availability information yet for this PQI USB 3.0 drive, it’s most likely very costly.
