Ford has announced an in-car WiFi hotspot system, Ford Sync, which allows the passengers in the car to stay connected to the Internet.
The Ford Sync WiFi needs you to provide you own 3G USB broadband modem, so you can set up your car as a mobile WiFi hotspot. The system does not require additional hardware and software installations, nor you do need Internet subscription packages through Ford.
The Ford Sync WiFi also ensures your data is transmitted on a secure channel, providing the WPA2 encryption and it needs you a password to access, so no one can leech off your bandwidth. The Sync system will be available in select Ford models starting in 2010.
