Lockface USB flash drive comes with strong security protection for the data on it. But to unlock the drive to access the data, you do not have to key in password, what you have to do is to present your face. It uses face recognition technology that allows you and only you to access the data.
Lockface needs to work with the webcam of your computer. In order to get Lockface USB drive to remember your face, you’ve gotta register a number of pictures of your face. After that, the Lockface drive verifies your face every time you access the data on it. It doesn’t need any extra software to be installed on your computer.
Alternatively, Lockface also allows you to use password, which the face-recognition function will be completely ignored. The Lockface drive uses 256-bit AES encryption to protect your data.
The Japanese company, Futen, that makes the Lockface, says the device has about 2% of error rate. I bet it’ll not be able to protect your secretive data from your twin brother.
Only the 4GB version of Lockface has been made available in Japan and costs $110. Futen is planning to bring models with larger capacities.
