Professor Yojiro Ishino and his students at the Agoya Institute of Technology have created a digital camera that is equipped with 158 lenses and they’ve managed to make the 158-lens camera into the Guinness Book of World Records.
The camera made with 158 lenses was meant for capturing 3D images. The camera was used by the professor to capture 3D images of a flame from different angles. Although the camera has 158 lenses but it is not too costly. As each lens costs only $2.10.
Anyway, the 158-lens digital camera was built for the purpose of the professor’s experiment which would not be likely to be mass produced. But it’ll definitely be an interesting piece if it manages to be commercially available one day, which you can use to take 3D pictures on the beach.
