The ViewSonic VCP08 is another smart phone that runs Windows XP. It’s a clamshell that comes with two screens, which the outside screen measures 2 inches and the inner screen measures 4.3 inches that is where the XP runs.

The VCP08 smart phone also comes with a full QWERTY and a finger mouse, so the users will be able to make full use of the XP capabilities as if it’s an UMPC. The VCP08 isn’t small, due to its dual screens, making it to come in larger size than any other smartphones (e.g iPhone or N97, pictures below show the comparison).

The keyboard of the VCP08 also comes more spacious compared to the QWERTY on other smart phones. But this should make it more comfortable to use, especially for heavy texters. Of course, the sacrifice is it’s less pocketable.
Well, this device will be useful for those who just need a single device that allows you make calls as well as some simple computing tasks such as editing documents, checking emails, surfing the Internet, blogging etc.
This ViewSonic VCP08 packs an 800MHz Intel Atom processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB storage that is expandable by using microSD cards. One little problem with this device is it carries a 1200mAH which is too low for a smartphone+UMPC hybrid device like the VCP08. So, a frequent recharge is required for heavy users.
