Wonder how divers can keep themselves connected with their loved ones who are many thousands miles away? It seems not too hard with the Alpha UWCP, an underwater cellphone system that comes with a number of gears that you need to make and receive calls while you’re underwater.

The Alpha UWCP costs $1,790. The unit consists of a number of gears including a full face mask with hose, an underwater communication kit, a 40 meter long cable with a waterproof connector, a waterproof interface box for cellphone with integrated Bluetooh connectivity, and an inflatable buoy with flags. And of course cellphone is not included.

Please note that the cellphone must be capable of “voice dialing”, supports Bluetooth and with dimensions no larger than 60mm wide, 25mm thick, 110mm high in order to fit into the interface box. It seems quite a number of gears that a diver needs to bring underwater, which may add some burdens. But they will definitely come in handy when you need a rescue.
