We’ve seen a couple of these telescopes that can be attached to the camera of a cellphone to allow the users to zoom objects from afar. A version that is specially made for the iPhone 3G and 3GS is now available at USBFerver, which allows your iPhone to have up to 8X zooming power.
The 8X telescope also comes with a stand which you can clip your iPhone 3G/3GS on and comfortably take pictures and videos from afar. A video attached below showing you how it could probably be used to record what’d be going on at the pool side from your apartment.

What a great little gadget! I still have the older iPhone model and have not been too tempted to upgrade yet. Something like this just might make me upgrade to the 3G now.
