Supercomputing power has moved to desktop. Maingear has also jumped onto the same bandwagon, having unveiled their new Maingear SHIFT series, which are personal computers that come with supercomputer processing power.

The Maingear Shift has been loaded with powerful components such as powerful GPUs to speed up your daily photo and video editing tasks. The Maingear Shift is housed in an aluminum case, with steel skeleton. The cooling system is pretty unique which uses top and bottom airflow and liquid cooling.

Two models of the Maingear Shift are available. The first model, Shift Intel P55 comes with an Intel Core I7 800 series processor, Intel Kingsberg P55 Extreme Series mainboard, ATI Radeon or NVidia GeForce graphics cards, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, with storage either up to 6 HDDs or 12 SSDs and either a Blu-Ray or DVD drive.

The second model is the Shift Intel X58, which comes with an Intel Core i7 900 series processor, with either an ATI Radeon HD or NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards, an EVGA X58 SLI Classified mainboard, with massive RAM up to 24GB, choice of either 6 HDDs or 12 SSDs and either Blu-Ray or DVD.

The P55 model starts with a price at $2,199, while the X58 model starts at $2,600 and both models are to come with the Windows 7 OS.
