Blackra1n is the jailbreak tool that was released by GeoHot a few weeks ago, which allows you to jailbreak any iPhones or iPod Touches that run the new version 3.1.2 firmware.
But unfortunately, the first release of the Blackra1n got problems which those who downloaded it didn’t manage to use it to jailbreak any iPhone or iPod Touch with firmware 3.1.2. Finally, GeoHot has released the RC2 of the Blackra1n, which has got a few fixes and it should be able to kick off your jail break on iPhone with firmware 3.1.2.
The RC2 includes the fixes of the 3G signal issues, Icy software, and added with a Tethered jailbreak for 3.1 OOTB iPod Touch 8GB and new 3GS. And it’s been made available for both Mac and Windows.
