Netbooks have eaten quite a lot of laptop market. As netbooks are simply much cheaper in price. But netbooks are meant for users who need a portable computer that is small and convenient enough to bring along anywhere you go, but only need the processing power that is sufficient for you to browse the web, reply emails and have some simple web chats.
Due to the laptop market has been bitten quite a big chunk by netbooks, the laptop makers now have a fight back. Laptop makers start offering laptops with much cheaper price, even some under 400 Euros and laptops are definitely providing processing power as good as what you can get with a desktop. If you need a portable computer that allows you to do almost similar what you can do with a desktop, then you should opt for a laptop instead of a netbook.
Anyway, when you’re about to stop by a computer shop, in the decision making stage whether to buy a netbook or a laptop, you’d better not listen to the sales staff of the shop, as they seem to fail to tell you what is good and bad about a laptop and netbook.
