
The best way to get a gadget to go green and be appealing to the “green-loving” geeks is to make it to take power from the natural sources. The most common way is equip the gadget with a solar panel, so it can extract sun juice for its power.
Here comes a new e-Book reader, which has just been announced by LG, and it’s powered by solar energy. Being solar-powered also lets the e-Book reader be able to let its users to continuously read the contents under the sun. It’s one that promises that it’ll not easily run out of juice as long as you’re exposed to some sun lights.
The LG e-Book reader comes with a 10-cm wide thin film panel which is about the width of a credit card. LG claims that once you have the device under the sun the 4-5 hours, it’ll gain a power that can last for a day of reading. The first prototype of this LG solar-powered e-Book reader will be demonstrated at International Meeting on Information Display (IMID) this week.
