If you carry around multiple mobile devices (cameras, smart phones etc), you will have to deal with multiple types of memory cards. It’s always neat to bring along a compact and small USB card reader that is capable of reading all types of cards.
The newly announced Kingston MobileLiteG2 is a compact multi-card reader that can read a number of memory cards including D, SDHC, microSD, microSDHC, Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo and regular Memory Stick Micro Cards. The little device measures only 62.15 x 29.40 x 16.4 mm and weighs 19 grams, which is small and convenient to bring along anywhere you go.
It does not support high-speed USB 3.0, connectivity is up to USB 2.0 only and backward compatible with USB 1.1. And works with a number of OSes including Windows 2000, XP, 7, Linux v 2.6.x and Mac OS X 10.3 or later. The Kingston MobileLiteG2 also comes with retractable USB covers for protection, a lanyard cable and a short USB extension cable.
The price starts at $11, or you can pick a bundle that includes either a 4GB or 8GB Class 4 SDHC card that costs $28.50 and $46 for the 4GB and 8GB version respectively.
